Where this came from

At some point in almost every growing company, someone in ops or finance opens a bank statement and sees a charge they don't recognise. They ask around. Nobody knows. The person who signed up for the tool left six months ago. The team moved to something else three months ago. The subscription just kept renewing.

That moment of confusion — and the time wasted trying to untangle it — is what HubStaq is built to prevent.

The solution most teams reach for is a spreadsheet. It works for a while. Then the person who built it leaves, or someone adds a tool without updating it, or the renewal dates drift out of sync. The spreadsheet becomes a snapshot of six months ago, not a live view of today.

"Every tool should have a named owner. If nobody owns it, nobody reviews it before renewal. And if nobody reviews it, you just keep paying."

What we're building

HubStaq is a subscription tracker built for small teams — typically founders, ops leads, and finance managers at companies with 5 to 100 people. People who need visibility over software spend but don't have a procurement department and don't want enterprise software with a six-week onboarding.

The product today is deliberately simple:

1
Add every subscription you're paying for — manually, with name, cost, billing cycle, and renewal date.
2
Assign an owner and a team to every tool — so there's always a named person responsible for each renewal decision.
3
See upcoming renewals before they hit your card — the Alerts tab shows everything expiring in the next 60 days, sorted by urgency.
4
See where your money goes — spend broken down by category and team, so you can spot where costs are clustering.

We're adding features based on what early users actually need — email reminders, CSV import, team collaboration, and eventually smarter integrations. You can see what's coming on the roadmap.

What we're not

HubStaq is not an enterprise procurement platform. We don't do contract management, vendor negotiations, or procurement workflows. Tools like Vendr and Zluri are excellent at that — for companies large enough to need them.

We're also not a spend management platform that connects to your bank or card. We don't want access to your financial infrastructure, and you shouldn't need to give it to us to get a clear view of what you're paying for.

Where we are right now

HubStaq is in early access. The core product works — you can sign up, add your subscriptions, assign owners, and see what's coming up. We're not going to pretend there are hundreds of customers or case studies, because there aren't yet.

What we have is a working product, a clear problem to solve, and a direct line to the people building it. If you sign up now, you get early access pricing locked in permanently, and your feedback shapes what we build next.

If you have questions, thoughts, or just want to talk through whether this is right for your team — email hello@hubstaq.com. We read and respond to every message.
